Referral Process

The referral process begins with initial inquiries regarding program services and bed availability made by the legal guardian, probation officer, or behavioral health network representative. Inquiries will receive a rapid response, which will generally be followed by the scheduling of a no-cost assessment. Internal discussions amongst agency personnel will then occur to assist in making a final determination regarding program acceptance.

Following a determination of acceptance, an intake appointment will be scheduled for the youth’s admission to Youth Development Institute. In the case that a bed within the appropriate program is not available at the time of acceptance, the youth will be added to our internal waiting list until an admission can be scheduled.
